Tips for a Relaxing Summer BBQ
The best thing about summertime is that it’s officially barbecue season! And since the South is known for it’s wonderful variations of tangy, sweet, smoky and spicy barbecue, we figured we’d share some of our favorite tips on having a fun, relaxing BBQ in Navarre Beach.
Find a Great BBQ Spot
First things first: you need to nail the perfect outdoor barbecue setting. Here are our favorite places in the Navarre Beach area with access to grills so you can have an awesome barbecue in a beautiful location:
- Blackwater River State Park
- Blackwater Heritage State Trail Pavilions
- Escribano Point Campgrounds
- Milton/Gulf Pines KOA
Try Summer Flavors
The warm Florida sunshine and sweet spices of your barbecue might bring the heat, but don’t forget to cool down with fresh summer flavors. Make coleslaw with cabbage and carrots. Grill up some fresh sweet corn. Have a salad with watermelon and cantaloupe. Add a new dimension to your spicy BBQ sandwich by adding a slice of sweet mango or ripe avocado. Not only will your dishes be incredibly tasty, you’ll be able to taste the bright, fresh flavors that will make this a BBQ to really remember.
If You Don’t Cook, Cheat
If you’re not much of a cook, there’s no shame in still wanting to eat delicious, delicious barbecue—just visit one of the many incredible eateries around us! Some of our favorite places for BBQ are:
- Grover T’s BBQ in Milton
- Rib Shack of Navarre in Navarre
Invite Your Friends
While we’re sure a solo barbecue is just dandy, we really feel that smoked meats, coleslaw, potato salad and corn bread are more enjoyable with friends. Potluck barbecues are a great opportunity to invite the gang and try each other’s recipes.
Relax and Enjoy!
